How Fitness Changed My Life

Image
We all know that the word fitness usually relates to having a well-toned chest, rock solid abs, chiseled biceps and titanic triceps. But what does fitness really means?  According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, fitness means   "The quality or state of being fit" s o it doesn't necessarily mean that it's all about physical appearance, it can also be our state of mind our mind, spiritual life and other aspects our lives. I started working out last 2016 and I can say that I learned a lot of things from it. Here are some of them 1) Action speaks louder than words. A lot of people will tell you "Magdidiet na nga ako eh" or "Next month magpupunta na ko sa gym" but in reality they never did. It will all come down to action, the more you act on it, the more you will see progress. 2) You don't cheat to win. Kagaya ng mga magjojowa, cheating is a big "no". You can not expect progress when you cheat. You will not

Why We Need to Love Our Politicians

Image
I’m sure you raised your eyebrows when you saw the title of this post- am I right my friend? Seriously, this is something we need to do. It’s the complete opposite of what’s happening in our country right now. From the alleged cheating of 2004 Presidential election, the PDAF scam, the events of the SAF44, and now the killings that is happening in our country. You might be thinking  “Sino ba tong batang to? Alam niya ba mga pinagsasabi niya?”  Opo,marahil bata pa po ako pero tulad nga ng sinabi ni tropang Nelson Rockefeller  “Never forget that the most powerful force on earth is love” . Without love we are nothing. Our world would not exist without love. From the very beginning, it was God’s love that made this world come to existence. A few years ago, it was your parents’ love that created you. At One Point in Their Lives… Think about the politician. They had their childhood and their beginnings too. They might have once said,   “I’ll be the one that will change the world.

6 Important Things Books Have Taught Me

Image
Some people find reading books boring. When I was younger (di pa naman ako matanda) I really didn’t like to read. I thought it was boring. Something only nerds will understand. Then, the long vacation of summer 2014 came. There was a 3-month vacation because of the academic calendar shift. One day, I saw my mom’s books and tried to read it. To my surprise it was good. I really got into it. The first book I read was  Beyond Talent by John Maxwell . It talks about molding your character and doing your best to reach your ceiling. After that, reading has become my hobby. I read books every time I get a chance. There are a lot of lessons I learned from the books I read. As of now, here are the valuable things I learned: 1. Encourage and inspire one another “Everyone has the potential to become an encourager. You don't have to be rich. You don't have to be a genius. You don't have to have it all together. All you have to do is care about people and initiate.” – Joh

Pinoy Speaks: What do you think of our country?

Image
Last November 2015, I did a survey regarding how a regular Pinoy view our current state in the Philippines. I gave questionnaires. The questions are the following: 1) 3 things that you love in our country? 2) Overall satisfaction in our country (5-highest, 1-lowest) 3) What are the things that needs improvement to make our society better? And do you see our country rising to the top? If yes, how long would it take? I asked 40 people, mostly college students and some adults. I did manual survey not online survey because I believe it will be better to do it personally. Here are the results of the survey: 1) Most of us thinks that the thing that needs to be improve in our country… Of course, none other than our  Traffic/ Transportation problems . Almost all of the people who answered the survey told me that traffic is the thing that needs most improvement. According to Enrique Peñalosa, Mayor of Bogotá,  “ A developed country is not a place where the poor have cars.

Optimism: Opening the world to endless possibilities

Do you see yourself as a successful person? Can you imagine that the weakest guy in your class could be the next Manny Pacquiao of our generation? Have you ever imagined living a life full of hope and love? Well, don’t limit yourself to reach your potential. Each one of us has the capacity to change the world but  first  we must change ourselves, beginning with the way we think. “Your potential is really up to you.”  Says John Maxwell.  “It doesn’t matter what others might think. It doesn’t matter where you came from. It doesn’t even matter what you might have believed about yourself at a previous time in your life. It’s about what lies within you and whether you can bring it out.”   Whatever happened to you in the past don’t let it dictate your future, use it as a fuel to ignite the fire within you. Last 2015, my friend was bragging about his grades to me. I found it weird because he showed me his grade for his summer class. I teased him and told him that he is a Dean’s Lis

Thoughts on Creating a Better Society

Image
"This country will not be good place for any of us to live in unless we make it a good place for all of us to live in." - Theodore Roosevelt Are we really enjoying our lives now?  From the moment we wake up , all we hear about is the traffic in the streets, the corruption committed by politicians, or the student stabbed by a bandit in Recto. Our daily realities are marked by many of these negative things. Is this the life we dream about? Of course, we will answer “No”. We want a happy life. We want a life full of joy; a life full of love and care for one another.  We all want  change ; to be part of an ideal society that will make the world a better place. Especially the Philippines, our beloved country. I may not be an expert but I am a citizen. And I want to do my part in shaping the future of our home. So here are some of my thoughts on how every Filipino can act to achieve our ideal society: 1) Unity and selflessness There’s a line in the song by   Rive

Hello, my name is

Enzo Ramel So who's this guy  trying to conquer the blogging world? Like most of the people here, I'm just a newbie in this scene(I assume). The only reason I am here because I want to inspire people, share my ideas, and help change the world for the better. 1) This blog is for the people who want to change the world. Many people dream of changing the world. If you are with me, feel free to write and share your ideas in the comment section below. 2) This blog is for the people who want to create something new in their life. You want to create something that has a positive value in the society? Do you want to add value to other people's lives? Then, I'm with you. 3) This blog is for the people who struggle with being idealistic but choose to live with it. Being idealistic or a dreamer is often misunderstood. Most of the time people will not get the sense of the things we talk about, they will judge us "impractical".  As Harr
